We are blessed with the eagles here in the Hudson Valley. I was working for the NYS environmental agency (DEC) when a few eagles from Alaska were flown in (by plane!) to repopulate the Valley. That was 1967 or so. The eagles have done well. Glad your son was able to watch. There are numerous pairs feeding nestlings rights now. If you go on the NYS DEC website you can sign up for an email newsletter with news and photos and videos of these and many other birds and fish.
It is so beautiful to hear your history with the eagles, Susan, and thank you for your work - it has really paid off! When Marianne and I were youngsters growing up on the Hudson River in the 1980s, bald eagles were extremely rare. The legendary Dr. Meng would accompany our science class to places where we could spot them.

So beautiful! Thanks to you and him for sharing that wonderful moment.
Thank you, Elaine, I let my son know.
